I've read this book roughly 82 million times because information technology is a favorite in my house. We've actually had it for almost two years and despite having books overflowing our shelves and access to the unabridged canton library full of books, this is one that keeps making it's way onto the "Delight READ THIS Ane MOMMY" list.I decided to finally write a review considering my first grader had to do a "book report" this twelvemonth (view spoiler)[it was a one page worksheet that required the kiddos to write one sentence answering five prompts, because first grade, but hey still a book study (hide spoiler)] and my trivial picked Nibbles. We also had to decorate a pumpkin to look similar a character from the volume which was a really beautiful seasonally advisable way to get the kids more than excited about the project.
^Nosotros are not crafty people, this is like gold medal level work coming out of my house.
Anyhow, the reason my boys BOTH like the Nibbles book is because he's a lovable little monster that chomps his way through books while getting lost in the stories he'south eating. Nibbles noms his manner through traditional fairy tales so the bonus stories are already familiar and the naughty little monster is hard to grab merely as y'all follow his path of volume destruction across the pages you too read how he has changed the stories we already know. For some reason that is the most hysterical thing to my kids. And I love their giggles so I tin can never say no to this goofy little ball of silly.
The reason I love Nibbles is that there is a fun book inside a volume format and so you can find something new each time yous read (mayhap not after 82 million times, but all the same). Also, depending on how much time y'all have to spend with Nibbles, you can either motion quickly through the pages by not reading every little detail if information technology'due south a terminal infinitesimal bedtime story, or if yous have plenty of time to hang out there is so much detail in the bonus stories that it'southward easy to knock out a half hour of downtime.
Overall, this is a smashing read aloud for kiddos and because of the fun format it'due south one they will pick upwardly and flip through on their own as well.

This book is adorable. It is interactive and stars a wee monster that yous gotta love even though he is naughty. He, like Houdini, is an escape artist, and when gets out of his cage he heads direct for his first honey.... his love of eating books! Yep, Nibbles is a book monster! He bounds directly for the classics: Niggling Reddish Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Goldilocks and the Iii Bears as well. Today he is fine dining on fairytales. He chomps, munches, and nibbles through their pages causing damage and emotional stress to the main characters and their story plots. Oh my! Tin anyone stop him and put him back in his cage where he belongs?
Kids lift flaps and peek thorough peep holes to try and track down this precocious, audacious trivial guy. The interactive cut-outs are very effective and the author/illustrator has added many fun features, ane being, trying to locate Nibbles in the midst of all the commotion he is creating. All the detailed illustrations are very kid-friendly and mesmerizing. The story is open up-ended leaving a perfect opportunity for a sequel which I hope she delivers. Both kids and adults will dear this book and I highly recommend it.

A really fun story with ambrosial illustrations to become lost in! Nibbles likes to nibble on things, and books are especially tasty to him. He nibbles his way out of his own book, then in and out of quite a few others, while the child who owns the books tries to detect him before Nibbles eats the kid'due south whole collection of books! The illustrations are filled with lots of fun details, including some spreads where the reader has to find where Nibbles is hiding. Such a cute volume, I want a copy for me!#NetGalley

Nibbles has really eaten his style through the pages of my book besides equally some archetype fairy tales. Worse yet, even later on being locked in a crate, he managed to eat his way out and is now somewhere in my bookshelves!
Nibbles nibbles his way through story books while the reader tries to take hold of him. What could be amend!
Well, it gets amend! The story book covers (that nibbles chews in to) are 'written' by unlike authors - all of them are anagrams for the author'southward name. I know, genius!!!
interactive, cut outs are really effective.
honey the rhythm and rhyme makes it so much more memorable
love the page of finding nibbles with all the book titles on because it recommends books to children whilst their absorbed within some other.
I love the fact that a traditional tales have been included and contradistinct to fit into this book! SO CLEVER! it requite the children some familiarity and shows them how some traditional tales can be changed and altered.

Patterns;
Eating his way out of ane volume and into another help the children to predict and feel successful when they figure out the pattern.
Children can so easily use this book and their own favourite traditional tales to create their own version of a monster who travels through books.
Puzzles;
Why does nibbles like eating books so much?
which book tasted the best?
Nibbles on the other hand loves eating books, entering their stories, and disturbing their peace. In this book we see him go through a various bunch of fairy tales, like Red Riding Hood, and wreck havoc at that place. Nibbles on the other hand loves eating books, entering their stories, and agonizing their peace. In this book we see him go through a various bunch of fairy tales, like Ruby-red Riding Hood, and wreck havoc there. Pissing of the residents of the stories, and not making a lot of friends because he also nibbles on the books.
I all the same couldn't hate the little fellow, instead I just laughed at his cuteness and his total obliviousness to all that happened around him. Though at times yous could meet he knew what he was doing.
I enjoyed opening the flaps (there were a lot), hunting for Nibbles, and so at the end doing what needed to be done. I too had great fun checking all the book titles during Nibbles escape (in that location were not only quondam books, only also some newer books, and it was a please to read them and signal and squeal at recognizing a newer book).
The book is riddled with holes here and in that location, holes through which Nibbles ate himself a way out. I loved that they were added it made the book and so much more fun.
I also take to requite extra credit to the book cover. Ordinarily books are paper and experience cold/difficult on the touch, but not this 1. It has texture, but likewise seems to non been made from paper only from fabric. I dearest it when publisher/authors practise something special to their books.
The art/illustrations were gorgeous and lovely, they were just as much fun as the story was. Nibbles is drawn in a cute way, and I also loved seeing the fairy tales come up to live anew with this artist'due south art.
The ending is open ended, and then I have hopes that we will take another Nibbles volume! With new adventures! New books! I can't await. :D
I would highly recommend this book to everyone.

Nibbles the Book MonsterThis adventurous book begins with the reader meeting Nibbles the Book Monster. He loves to nibble everything but his favorite thing to crumb is BOOKS! Most of the time, Nibbles is independent in his cell being skilful. But whenever he escapes, panic and commotion always ensue. This fourth dimension, Nibbles has escaped and is nibbling through different folktales and fairy-tales which leaves their stories a mess! See the crazy mess that Nibbles leaves in his path. Everyone wants Nibbles to be caught.
The genre for this volume starts out as fiction, simply and then switches to Folktale and Fairy-tales. The writer creates a twist with the stories by throwing Nibbles into the stories and his tendencies to destroy and nibble things. The author and illustrator take created books within books that has the reader wanting to take hold of Nibbles and to encounter what shenanigans he gets into adjacent. The dissimilar stories are unique to their book within The Book Monster. The grade levels that would bask this would be Kindergarten through 2nd Course. I read the story aloud to my 1st Graders, who LOVED the main story of Nibbles, but also were excited to see which folklore or fairy-tale story would come adjacent. They would e'er brand predictions of which story would come next.
Some ideas for this book would be to discuss the similarities and differences between the folklore stories to compared to the original or a different version. At that place are many similarities and differences that the students could detect. They could create a Venn Diagram to prove the similarities and differences. Since there are a few dissimilar versions mentioned within the Book Monster, the teacher would take great examples to do a instructor model, a nosotros exercise case, and a educatee practise. Also, students could complete a sequence of events for the Book Monster to explain what happened throughout the story. Students could also write about what they call up will happen adjacent to Nibbles. Students could create their ain story about Nibbles and his next run a risk. Lastly, the instructor could have a discussion about how students know that this is a fractured fairy-tale/sociology story and how this story is dissimilar from nonfiction.
This was a Wow book for me considering of all the different stories within the Book Monster. Nibbles was a great character that could be establish through the different stories and was changing how the stories were being told. Since the volume is very interactive, the students had a chance to be engaged with what Nibbles was doing through the story. The books setup was one of my most favorite parts and I was saying WOW when you could meet how continued the stories were because of Nibbles. Usually a folktale or fairy-tale volition only accept 1 specific story that is told, only this version has some of my favorite examples so even I was wowed throughout the story.

Simply since Nibbles: The Dinosaur Guide was actually fun and I found this paperback on auction, I decided to requite information technology a endeavour.
I'm happy to say it's really good. The creative utilize of paper with flaps and holes in pages is nice and the book is fun. The fairy tale visits make sense at least simply you do have to know the stories to get the jokes.
I would still recommend going for Nibbles: The Dinosaur Guide first and if y'all love it, and so go this one as well.

The interactive component comes from the "actress" pages that make up the three interrupted classics as well as Nibbles's crate. The little monster also plays "hide-and-seek" on i set of pages. I know my son will be able to fully bask this volume when he gets a petty older and has stronger fine motor skills. For at present, mommy turns the pages for him, and Luke happily follows along!
My aunt gave this book to my son on his starting time birthday. She said information technology was new, fun favorite of hers and her grandchildren. She is quite the bibliophile, and I always take her recommendation. And this time was no exception!

Anyway, despite my son'south immaturity for Nibbles - or rather his too risky closeness to and absolutely anticipated admiration of the toothy fiddling rascal, I happen to savour reading this book myself every and then often. It is both a simple joy and an inspiration, which never fails to bring a smile to my face.
It'due south hard not to share something I honey with my son only yet, merely in this case I believe information technology's worth waiting. For when he is ready, he will certainly notice a great new friend and mischief buddy in Nibbles. And I will be at that place to bring together in on their adventures.
